STATE PENSION AGE: The age at which women reach State Pension age is gradually increasing from 60 to 65 between April 2010 and April 2016 to November 2018. Under current legislation, State Pension age for men and women is planned to increase to: 66 between November 2018 and October 2020; 67 between 2034 and 2036; 68 between 2044 and 2046. This will introduce a small increase to the number of working age benefit recipients and a small reduction to the number of pension age recipients. Figures from May 2010 onwards reflect this change. For more information see http://statistics.dwp.gov.uk/asd/espa.pdf.
Notes:
Average weekly amount of benefit The amount of State Pension is affected by the introduction in April 2003 of Child Tax Credit. From that date there were no new child dependency increases awarded to SP claimants, although existing CDIs were transitionally protected.
